Wotan is superbly bred, with both his sire and dam being from the famous Hannoverian W line, the most successful dressage line competing in the world today.
This line includes horses starring on the international stage such as Welcome (Isabell Werth) and Walk on Top (Louise Nathhorst), world renowned sires such as Weltmeyer, Wenzel, World Cup and Walt Disney, and Australian success stories such as Nancy French’s Wiking.

Wotan's breeding is in fact along very similar lines to the breeding of the legendary Weltmeyer, the most successful dressage stallion to ever stand in Germany.
Weltmeyer has sired 57 approved stallions and 169 state premium mares, with a staggering total of 2,232 approved offspring in Germany. (see Wotan's lineage below, and see how similar it is to Weltmeyer's!!!)

Wotan has inherited the W line characteristics of strong, distinct, cadenced movement, showing a particularly outstanding trot inherent in both his sire and dam lines, which carry the two stallions standing at the Celle State Stud which were most renowned for their trot - Woehler on his sire’s side and Florentiner 11 on his dam’s side.

Wotan has an exceptional temperament, being kind, calm and trainable. His progeny are exceeding all expectations, demonstrating the same trainability, combined with expansive straight action.

The lineage of Weltmeyer shown below is very similar to that of Wotan's. As can be seen, both had Woermann in their sire's lines and Absatz in their dam's lines.
